The Bloodgate is where you can browse for ranked matches, set up your own matches or hone your abilities in training matches. You can also access a tutorial from here, and communicate with other players through the chat window. You can add friends to your Friends List in the Bloodgate, and you also get an overview of your own stats such as level, victories and rank.
You are presented with four different game-buttons in the Bloodgate; Single Player, Create Game, Join Game and ladder Game.
In Single Player you can try out the different bloodlines and their abilities against bots. You can set up different Arena matches with bots of varying difficulty.
In Create Game you can start a game of your liking and leave it open for other users to join. Here you have several options to choose from, including game type, number of players and whether or not you want the server to be private.
You can also set level requirements or level caps on your server, round times, and rounds required to win.
Pressing the Join Game button will bring up a list of servers currently available. Here you can choose any current open server someone else has set up. Browsing the list of servers you can see how many free slots there are in a game and any rank requirements. You can also see in the different server options what game mode the server is, if leaving protection is enabled and if you can join the game as an observer.
In Ladder game you will get matched against players on your same level and ranked in the same league as your opponents. When you enter the Ladder Game menu you will be presented with three choices; Solo, Teams or Tournament.
A Solo game will see you battle it out with other random players that are in your same skillgroup.
In Teams you enter a ladder with a team you’ve created and compete against other teams. You can use this link if you’d like to create a team for this purpose as well. Currently you can compete in 4 different teams.
The Tournaments menu is not yet available, but will be working at launch. Here you can join different tournaments and fight for prizes.
Your account in Bloodline Champions is linked to both a Rank and a level. You earn points towards a new level by getting experience points in/game. Your experience points are based on your own performance in-game, with a bonus for winning games. You can see your level displayed with your character info, and you will also see how much XP you have gained after every completed match.
You start out as a Fledgling grade player when you first start playing Bloodline Champions. You gain rank by scoring points. The only visible points you can see towards your new rank can be found in Ranked games, whereas a hidden point system determines your rank through single player games and custom games.
