New Melee Bloodline - Head Hunter
Menacing Slash (MB1)
Melee swing that does moderate damage. Causes an open wound on third strike.
Open Wound
Does low damage over time for 4s
Twin Death (MB2)
Throws two returning scythes in separate arcs. Each scythe does moderate damage, slows and causes an open wound to the enemy.
Slayer Rush (Space)
Enters a state of insanity that removes all slows and greatly increases movement speed. Using any other ability will end the effect. Next Menacing Slash will do bonus damage and knock the target back.
Harvest Blood (Q)
Swings both scythes in the direction of the cursor position. Does low damage and heals you for a moderate amount of health. This attack also consumes open wound from the enemy resetting the cooldown of this ability.
Ferocious Strike (E)
Leaps in the direction of the cursor position and strikes a blow that does moderate damage and causes an open wound. This ability can be used twice in a row if used a second time within 2.2s.
Enrage (R)
Assume a reactive stance that negates an attack. When an attack is negated, you counter attack by charging in the direction of the cursor. Does moderate damage, stuns the enemy and causes an open wound.
Headhunt (F)
Enters a state of frenzy and throws 5 deadly scythes. Each scythe does moderate damage and causes an open wound.
Debilitating Strike (EX M2)
Throws a scythe that does low to high damage, slows and causes an open wound to the enemy. Damage increases the farther the scythe travels.
Reap (EX Q)
Swings both scythes in the direction of the cursor position. Does low damage, heals you for a moderate amount of health and paralyzes enemies.
General
• XP rewarded from games increased by 50%
• Level Requirement for Solo Ranked down to 20 from 25
• Medium and Hard bots are now available to all account types
• An in-game key code menu has been added for key code rewards
• Rewards for Ladder Season 4 have been added in the Rankings GUI.
• It is now possible to manually close the Game Loading Screen after a certain time; making it possible to get back to the other menus if a player gets stuck in the Loading Screen.
• Added a chat spam protection system
• Improved auto-balance for party matchmaking
• Level Requirement to enter an in-game tournament has been reduced to Level 5.
Bugfixes
• Fixed a bug that caused the 'Game Reward Window' to display that you got experience boost for 'Wins boost' when you lost a game.
• Fixed a bug that caused you to not get Away From Keyboard status while chilling in tournaments menus.
• Fixed a bug that caused players to get "undefined" as favorite bloodline when they exited the game while they where playing in an active match.
• Fixed a couple of GUI bugs where the GUI was overlapping or misplaced.
• Fixed a bug where the client sometimes crashed while in the tournament menus
• An error message should now be shown correctly when trying to download replays that not yet exists on the server
• Fixed an error with the clansman achievement not being achieved directly after joining/creating a clan
• Fixed a rare client out of memory crash
• Downloading replays should no longer overwrite existing replays

As we told you last week we’ll be getting a second provider of bandwidth to our servers, unfortunately it’s a bit delayed but we hope to have it fixed by the end of this week.

Mr2s community tournament is back on track! We’re just working on getting a website up to get you guys some proper information! It’s going to be epic, and expect some bacon!
Since we have not been able to try out the servers with the additional bandwidth we have not been able to reschedule the SteelSeries finals yet, as soon as we get to see how the servers are working with the fix we’ll get more information out! Sorry for the delay guys.

Weekly update #4!

2 years since Beta start!
Today it’s 2 years since we opened the Bloodgate for the first time, for our first ever beta test!
The game sure has come a long way since. The memories from that night will never fade: we had sent out about 500 keys but not all of the recipients joined of course. The first thing that happened was that we told people to flood the chat. The server crashed in seconds. xD After we fixed that the second thing immediately popped up at us. We needed a more powerful PC to run the Bloodgate, and we needed it yesterday. So in the middle of the test, while the servers kept crashing, we started to set up a second server. When we got that up and changed... that PC went into sleep mode! It was probably the only PC at the office that had a password... and the guy who knew it wasn’t there, so we had to call him at like 11 pm or something. After that it went quite well. ^^ Now that we’ve been live for over a year it all runs quite smooth compared to then! xD
Headhunter Sneak Peek this Sunday!
This Sunday after the Kill The King tournament you’ll get the chance to see the upcoming Bloodline, the Headhunter, in action on live stream!
Semmler the Riot, Kae and friends will show him off from the QA server during the live stream. After the sneak peak you can stay around to listen to the people who’ve tested him on the QA and hear their impressions in this years first Roundtable, hosted by Semmler.
The Kill The King Tournament and stream starts at 17:00 UTC this Sunday! Don’t miss it!
What we’re up to
We’ve been running the new Bloodline along with a decent number of balance changes on the QA and we are happy with the results. The Headhunter features a pretty unique play style, if you like playing an agile melee fighter with high mobility and a lot of combos you’re going to love this Bloodline. We are currently finalizing everything for the patch which means you can expect patch notes to be up during next week!
After the next patch we’re also happy to let you know that medium and hard bots will be available for all accounts. We’ve also added some features that make it easier for us to work with events and websites to promote the game.
Latency issues
As most of you know we’ve had some problems with latency towards the servers, this caused us to cancel the SteelSeries Sensei WinterTournament Finals this Sunday. To try and fix these issues we’ll add a second bandwidth provider to our servers to carry the game data. This should hopefully result in better connection to the servers and in theory less packet loss. We’ll be testing this out over the weekend and hope for good results. We’ll wait until after testing this out before we reschedule the SteelSeries Sensei WinterTournament Finals.
There are some new items and accessory packs available in the marketplace as well!
(Added: The items are the Armored Engineer outfit, the 2 last Lightning Weapons and some new titles!)

When we got that up and changed... that PC went into sleep mode! It was probably the only PC at the office that had a password... and the guy who knew it wasn’t there, so we had to call him at like 11 pm or something. After that it went quite well. ^^ Now that we’ve been live for over a year it all runs quite smooth compared to then! xD
Headhunter Sneak Peek this Sunday!
This Sunday after the Kill The King tournament you’ll get the chance to see the upcoming Bloodline, the Headhunter, in action on live stream!
Semmler the Riot, Kae and friends will show him off from the QA server during the live stream. After the sneak peak you can stay around to listen to the people who’ve tested him on the QA and hear their impressions in this years first Roundtable, hosted by Semmler.
The Kill The King Tournament and stream starts at 17:00 UTC this Sunday! Don’t miss it!
What we’re up to
We’ve been running the new Bloodline along with a decent number of balance changes on the QA and we are happy with the results. The Headhunter features a pretty unique play style, if you like playing an agile melee fighter with high mobility and a lot of combos you’re going to love this Bloodline. We are currently finalizing everything for the patch which means you can expect patch notes to be up during next week!
After the next patch we’re also happy to let you know that medium and hard bots will be available for all accounts. We’ve also added some features that make it easier for us to work with events and websites to promote the game.
Latency issues
As most of you know we’ve had some problems with latency towards the servers, this caused us to cancel the SteelSeries Sensei WinterTournament Finals this Sunday. To try and fix these issues we’ll add a second bandwidth provider to our servers to carry the game data. This should hopefully result in better connection to the servers and in theory less packet loss. We’ll be testing this out over the weekend and hope for good results. We’ll wait until after testing this out before we reschedule the SteelSeries Sensei WinterTournament Finals.
There are some new items and accessory packs available in the marketplace as well!
(Added: The items are the Armored Engineer outfit, the 2 last Lightning Weapons and some new titles!)

Only one qualifier left for the Steel Series Sensei Winter Tournament!
On Sunday it’s time for the big final! The top 8 teams will duel it out in a streamed tournament!
We’ll also announce the winners of the Steel Series product lottery for the people who’ve participated in the qualifiers and give away some in-game stuff! If you have not participated in a qualifier to be eligible for any of these prizes, make sure to not miss the final and last chance to do so! Participate in the last qualifier in-game tournament this Thursday!

What we’re up to
We’ve been doing a lot of evaluation of the game lately and we’ve decided it’s time for tweaks in some of our systems.
To start with, we will increase the XP gain with 50%. The main reason for this is that player skill improvement generally stagnates before they reach a level where they're able to compete in the current solo ranked system. At this time they’ve gotten good at the game. Now we want players to get into the matchmaking where you really challenge and push yourself to your next level of skill against the other top players to become great at the game.
With this we’ll also lower the level requirement to join the Solo ladder, the new requirement will be level 20!
These implementations will be done in the next patch.

We've hinted the other day to some good news coming out this week and today is the day I finally get to spill the beans. It has been a whole year since release and today BLC turns 1 year old! Time really flies! So much has happened the past year and we’re looking forward to see how this next year will progress for our baby, Bloodline Champions!

Weekly Update Week 2, 2012! Still can't believe it's 2012..

First off, we’ve decided to keep the 8 Bloodline Rotation until further notice! We hope you enjoy it!
Marketplace Update
There’s some new items released! You can now find the Armored Blood Priest Outfit and 2 new Gold Weapons in the Marketplace!
On top of that, we have 4050% off on selected Silver Weapons!
What we’re tinkering with
We’ve been having a lot of balance discussions lately and are currently preparing the QA for some balance testing.
First and foremost, we will be trying out some changes to Stalker and are looking at fixing unstoppable combos such as Deviate into Puncturing Strike into Black Dagger. We also want to turn Shroud of Darkness into a more defensive EX ability rather than an offensive one.
Guardian and Ravener are two Bloodlines that we feel are a bit too weak in their current state. With Ravener we’re fiddling a bit with on EX ability ‘Mace to the Face’ as well as cast times for Spike Strike and Earth Crush. With Guardian we want to make Intervene less risky to use on allies as well as increase the speed of Counter Attack to make it more reliable.
We are still looking into how Storm Caller is performing. You can for example expect a slightly longer channel time on Charged Lightning to make it easier to aim. We’re also going to tweak his EX abilities to make them more reliable.
Other Bloodlines that will receive some small tweaks are Gunner, Engineer, Seeker, Metal Warden and Psychopomp.
We will also be toning down Meteor Shard as it has shown to be extremely strong in certain situations.
That’s what we plan for now and we’re looking forward to see how it works when we test it on the QA. Final changes will be announced with the patch notes before the next patch.
Ontop of that we’re also looking very hard into the server situation to find the best possible solutions to the latency issues that players from some regions experience since the move.

A year goes by fast and soon Bloodline Champions will have been released for a year! We here at the studio have a lot of happy memories that we feel lucky to share with you; 4 Bloodline releases, some random games, two awesome DreamHacks, balance discussions, getting raged at, eating lollipops on streams, picking on Kae ‘cause he’s a ginger, some awesome BLC cakes and much much more! More celebration will start on the actual b-day so make sure to swing by and log into the game on Friday! ^_^. We hope you’ll stick around for the upcoming year as well!

To start with: Winter Holiday sales! These sales will be running until January 4th, so check them out during the holidays.

Server Relocation
During today’s server maintenance we moved our European game servers to a new server center in Stockholm, Sweden. Everything should be up and running smoothly again now.
Contest Reminders
Also wanted to remind people about some of our contests that has gotten some awesome contributions to them, we have the Winter Holiday Baking Contest, and the DreamHack Tournament Montage Contest.
Here are some of the first awesome contributions we’ve gotten:

Child's Play Charity Pack Reminder! Last Chance!

Just wanted to remind you about the Child's Play Charity pack, and that this weekend is the last chance to get it (for this time anyway). It is available throughout Dec 18th (UTC). So if you want to give a little to charity, and get some in-game items in Bloodline Champions at the same time, act quickly.

When you buy this pack all proceeds will go to Child's Play, a charitable organization that organizes worldwide toy drives to children's hospitals.
The pack is available for 240 Funcom Points, and All Proceeds go to Child's Play. The pack contains an Avatar (similar to the picture below, without the text) and a Title (Santa's Helper). You can use these in-game to show what a charitable person you are. :)
So, if you are feeling charitable, just jump in game and buy the pack to show your generosity.

We are sorry for the inconvenience with “The Grade 30 bug"

As a lot of you might have noticed, we had a bug that made people gain grades very fast. What happened, in a simple explanation, was that people who got affected by the bug got insanely high hidden matchmaking rating, then while playing they gained rating very fast cause the rating system strives to match the rating and the hidden rating. As a result the affected players ended up on high grades which they shouldn’t have.
We’ve decided to lower the grade on everyone who got affected by the bug to grade 13. To compensate for the inconvenience, everyone who has been logged into the game between last Monday and the patch this Wednesday has gotten a reward in compensation. The reward differs a bit between players depending on how the bug affected them.
Hope you can forgive us, we hope it never happens again! *hugs*

We at Stunlock Studios are happy to present the Bloodline Champions SteelSeries Sensei Winter Tournament!
Take the chance to become the first SteelSeries Bloodline Champions Sensei!
The tournament will run over 6 weeks, beginning with a qualifier this weekend and 7 more until late January when the grand finals will be played! The qualifier tournaments will be played in the in-game tournament system on EU servers. The top team from each qualifier will be invited to a final tournament consisting of the winning teams of each qualifying tournament.
The winners of the final tournament take home these amazing prizes: a SteelSeries Sensei, a printed canvas signed by the developers at Stunlock Studios and additional, awesome in-game items!
If you don’t think you have the chance to bring home the grand prize in this fierce competition, don’t worry! By participating, you will get the chance to win more awesome SteelSeries products that will be handed out after the final tournament! In the lottery you can win one of the following prizes: a SteelSeries Siberia V2 White, a SteelSeries 9HD and a SteelSeries QcK Heavy. We’ll throw in some fun in-game items as hand outs to random participants’ as well!

Winter Holiday Baking Contest 2011!

It’s finally time for the winter holidays baking contest that we’ve been waiting for at the office!
You are to do any kind of bake, but it must combine the BLC theme with the holidays.
For example: a BLC styled cookie house. Here the cookie house itself is pretty iconic for the winter holidays and fills that requirement, so it just needs to be BLC styled.
Or you could go with a generic cake, but then it must have a motif/sculpt that is related to both BLC and for example the New Year celebrations!
Rules:
1. Coolest pastry/bake wins!
2. Must be both BLC and winter holiday related!
3. There will be 3 winners, prizes are as follows:
1st Place: Ru’do the Red-Nosed Outfit, a Winter Weapon of your choice, the Mark of Winter Medallion and the Fireworks Medallion.
2nd Place: Ru’do the Red-Nosed Outfit, a Winter Weapon of your choice and either the Mark of Winter Medallion or the Fireworks Medallion.
3rd Place: Ru’do the Red-Nosed Outfit and a Winter Weapon of your choice.
All Winners: In the spirit of giving, each winner will also get to give away 2 additional Winter Weapons to other players they choose!
4. You will need to host your video/image somewhere. Youtube.com or a regular file host like mediafire.com and the like will work just fine for movies, for images, you can go with imageshack.com or similar.
5. You submit your entry by linking to the movie, or embedding pictures, in a post in this thread!
6. Have fun! :D
7. You give us the right to use your submission in news, articles and other advertisement upon submitting the entry.
8. Competition will close on 2012-01-01 18:00 UTC

We’ve been running sales on the 16 original bloodlines and the 4 so called Bloodlust bloodlines, after testing these prices out we’ve decided to lower the price permanently! So the 16 original bloodlines will now cost 360 Funcom points and all bloodlust ones 480 Funcom points as standard price!
We’re celebrating a lot this week!
To start we’re setting off the Winter Holiday Celebration, not just with the reward but also with a new troll medallion: Mark of Winter! It’ll only be available for 2 weeks so get it while you can! See a preview of it here
To celebrate the Russian launch, we’ve made a Russian inspired Ravener outfit! ^^
And to celebrate the winners of the Dreamhack Winter 2011 tournament: X6tence with the players Chipshajen, mty and Verosk! We’ve made an in-game pack of the bloodlines and accessories they wore during the finals!
Last but not least:
