Mh yes that's quite a good idea; i suppose that's the right middle point between prize and limitations, since you're not limiting a thing that wasn't limited before, but you're adding it already so.

awsome idea!

1600, 2100 and 2400 rating outfits or something like that only from 3s tho.
emotes could also be fun to get only from playing rated.

titels could also be fun to be locked on ratings, still same costs but rating needed to get them

What I like in your idea is that you didn't forget that :

1. BLC is an esport. So people are supposed to be willing to play to be the best, and skins shouldn't be the major trigger.
2. BLC business model includes selling skins for real money. By creating special weapons and outfits that require a minimum score, you don't cannibalize too much the skins that can be bought with funcom points (because casual players and those who don't especially want to be at top should also be able to look good in game :D).
3. It can contribute to categorize very well the skins offered of BLC, and definitely to encourage the designers' creativity for those. In other words : awesome unique outfits and weapons that need requirements PLUS awesome unique outfits and weapons you can buy with funcom points.

And I wanna say that 1 per season is only one option. We can imagine to apply it considering the league the player is in, maybe more often than that etc.

Pretty cool idea IMO, very nice :)

There is a thing called tournament prizes. It seems you haven't heard of it. You know, you may bash on games like League of Legends, but they do so well because you need this bs. New players that like a certain Outfit or Weapon and can't get it because they have to climb in the ladder will become discouraged. If this were to be implemented, make an option to buy them with real money and definitely make them the best in terms of graphical design. If not, than this idea is a step backwards.

Bottom line is that there should be more incentive to do rated arenas and more unique rewards over all. The tournament weapons has been around for how long? With no new sets of token rewards since then other than new avatars.

What's so bad about having unique rewards for placing well in rated arenas and a separate reward for winning tournaments? *though token rewards need to be updated more often imo*

By this point i save tokens purely for the BC reward at the end of season seeing as all the token rewards are so bad. Even the tournament weapons look like shit for the most part.

There is a lack of content in every aspect in the game, not just token rewards. I agree that there should be something more encouraging players to gain more rating and so on. That's fine and all but I don't think that weapons and grade emblems should be all you get out of achieving a high score on ranked. In any case, I still think that everything in the game should be purchased with funcom points. I don't think I need to explain the obvious plus, be it for the players and for Funcom and SLS as well.
