New forum for "Media"

As the amount of BLC-related media spread across the interwebs will only increase in the future, why not centralise the source here on the BLC forums.

Slowly, general discussion will become more and more useless as there is a category for everything else...

Either way, since most of that does tend to be posted there, it would be better to have its own forum. I predict someday there will be nothing relevant to put in general discussion, though.

Actually, right now, Beta Discussion is used for videos, which is kind of logical, but still a bit misplaced.

If BLC becomes even remotely succesful, a Media forum will be needed anyway. It's a common environment in the realm of gaming forums. I simply chose to bring this up now.

I don't see how it can't, it are appeal. But really, what the heck is supposed to go in general with all these forums.

Sorry to be a bit blunt, but I believe that this suggestion is quite self-explanatory and I feel no further need to explain why I brought it up. I base this suggestion on my personal experience on various gaming forums.

The devs will either go: "Oh, right.", or they'll simply dismiss this idea.

I agree with Bernhardt here. I'd love to see a media section. You can simply have an forum section for it, or you could make it a bit more deep. Here's an example:

Guild Wars 2 Guru has one of these media sections. It basically has everything the community creates, such as art and guides, there's even an iPhone theme. Their forum is here *link*. But, if you click the "community works" section of the forums, it actually redirects you to here *link*. There you can browse the actual downloads, not the topics, seeing the comments, screenshots, authors and other statistic. What's even more cool, you can put large images there, such as wallpapers, and the forums will automaticly resize it smaller to be viewed. Clicking the image shows the full-sized image.

That's a vBulletin add-on probably. I bet there's a similar one for phpBB though.

yeah a media section would be nice, and a guide section for that matter, I think that the community has grown big enough to accommodate more specialized sub-forums. after all general is usually where you are supposed that which doesn't belong in any other sub-forum. and it is only there because creating a sub-forum for each imaginable aspect would make it too specialized and then you'd have to split hairs in order to choose exactly which forum each thread goes into, so a healthy balance is of course best, but there is still room for more sub-forums

Well I suggest you create a subforum in this forum where everyone can have their:

• Image/Signatures requests done
• Image/Signatures portfolios posted
• Fan media artwork/videos/music/literature
• Any other thing related to Fan Media

I used to be a Signature Maker on some other games forums, and it's a good way to increase comunication between the comunity.

It would look like this:

* Subforum: Signature of the week contests (Optional, for contests)
